Price war heats up for database firms

It's a deal, it's a steal, it's Sale of the bleeding Century...

Sybase is increasing the likelihood of a database price war by slashing the cost of one of its products by 50 per cent.

What the company describes as "qualified customers" will get 50 per cent off the price of an EAServer, for hosting applications. There are also discounts of 30 per cent of training charges and free access to Sybase technical papers.
