Content management firm Websense has forecast higher than expected third quarter results after claiming its pricing model insulated it from the recent economic downturn.
Pro forma earnings for the quarter ending 30 September 2001 are expected to be over six cents per share or $5m, beating original forecasts of two cents per share.
Revenue is expected to reach $9.5m, a sequential quarterly growth of 16 per cent. The company expects to end the quarter with $94m in cash and no debt.
Websense management attributed the upbeat performance to its subscription pricing model, which requires customers to pre-pay on a one-, two- or three-year basis.
Websense third quarter results are due out on 23 October.
