
CA board getting jittery before 10 August D-day...

Computer Associates chairman Charles Wang has written to every one of his shareholders urging them to back his team against the hostile takeover attempt by Texan millionaire, Sam Wyly.
Sam Wyly aims to get elected chairman and replace CA's board with nine associates. He wants to split the company into four separate divisions with their own managing directors.
Charles Wang said in the letter: "We think Wyly's plan is misguided and would hurt CA's customers, shareholders and employees. It is so important that you cast your vote in support of CA's current management and board."
