
BMW is using SAP software to accelerate engine production at its new Hams Hall manufacturing plant in Birmingham.

SAP is providing a common software system that will enable collaborative working among all staff involved in the production process.
According to Paul Fuller, business development manager at SAP, BMW will be able to produce one engine every thirty seconds when running at full capacity, totalling approximately 400,000 units per year.
BMW Hams Hall, will manufacture four cylinder engines for export to vehicle assembly plants in Germany, South Africa and the US.
