Autonomy provides portal for Ericsson

The portal allows users to personalise and categorise their internet content and hyperlinks through one single interface by integrating various sources such as news feeds, office documents and other intranet information. The software allows access through any desktop or mobile device.

In a statement, Autonomy said: "The portal software allows text and voice analysis which it then can automatically categorise, link and personalise for the user. It can automate the information from different applications, such as customer relations management database or ebusiness software."

David Wells, senior analyst at Ovum, told silicon.com: "Portals amplify the value of corporate intranets by making them more effective and attractive to use. The intranet will be supporting the corporate portal and will act as an underlying infrastructure rather than make it disappear."

One of the main attractions of a corporate portal is its personalisation and design ability, which analysts claim will be the driving force behind web-enabled communication.

Both parties declined to reveal the value of the agreement.

Autonomy made a similar agreement last week with Finnish telco Sonera, providing the company's 6,000 employers with a corporate portal.
