Invensys linked to Baan acquisition

UK electronic engineering company Invensys is poised to make a bid for troubled Dutch ERP vendor Baan, according to reports in the Wall Street Journal.

Baan's share price rose 90 per cent on Thursday following the acquisition speculation. The company has recorded losses over the past seven quarters and has admitted to holding talks with a number of companies.

Both companies denied the speculation.
