PharmiWeb has teamed up with Infobank to provide the first digital business-to-business (B2B) portal for the UK pharmaceutical industry.

The system will be based on Infobank's InTrade e-Hub to create specific communities for buyers and suppliers and will be rolled out to European market in the coming months.

The portal was launched at the end of 1998 supplying news, information and services for the life sciences sector. Following the signing of leading vendors such as Astra Zeneca, GlaxoWellcome and Pfizer the decision was taken to create a digital B2B marketplace targeted at the European sector.

Also available from the marketplace will be drug discovery software and manufacturing compounds.
