Troubled ERP vendor Baan has formed an ebusiness subsidiary to offer customers Internet enabled CRM applications.
Pierre Evereart, interim CEO at Baan, claimed the move is designed to enable the company to consolidate its Internet activities. He said the resulting "sell-side opportunities" are large and could increase the beleaguered company's revenue.
The newly created Colorado-based unit will focus on "e-fulfillment", providing ERP and CRM applications over the Web.
However, the unnamed company will not begin to operate until June when Baan expects all legal issues relating to the formation of the division to be completed.
Evereart claimed he has high hopes for the new dot-com business and predicted flotation within six to nine months.
