Nortel Networks has launched its Clarify eBusiness Applications Unit, which aims to provide enterprises and service providers with business-to-business applications and services for deploying Web-based marketplaces.

The unit will incorporate recently acquired Periphonics, the call centre software developer, plus Nortel's own call centre offerings to provide corporates with an end-to-end ecommerce offering.

The new company has also signed up Andersen Consulting to provide services to organisations wanting to implement ebusiness strategies, processes and technologies.
