A Californian application service provider (ASP), eOnline, has agreed to use Dell servers to host ERP services worldwide.

The ASP hosts SAP R/3 applications for mid-market customers. The company claims Dell's PowerEdge servers will offer the highest possible level of availability.

"Everyone is doing application hosting at the moment - it's the flavour of the month... Dell is keen to make sure the hosting is done on its platform," commented Laurent Lachal, senior analyst at research house, Ovum.
