Lucent Technologies is to offer telecoms service providers a unified messaging system.
The Unified Messenger for Service Providers will incorporate Lucent's voice and fax messaging technology, with Microsoft Exchange used as the email component. It includes hardware, software, services and support, and will be sold to telcos, application service providers and ISPs.
Service providers can either host the system for a business, or install and manage it onsite.
Unified Messenger for Service Providers will be available in France, Germany and the UK in the second quarter next year.
