CCTA to submit government middleware report

By Sarah Left

Published: 17 September 1999 17:07 GMT

The CCTA will be submitting a report on middleware to the government's Central IT Unit (CITU) within the next few weeks.

The group is investigating object-oriented middleware in response to the plans outlined in the Modernising Government white paper.

CITU is trying to bridge the gap between the diverse database systems in use across government, and Labour's stated aim of putting the government's knowledge on the Web for all to see.
