Some North Sea oil and gas operators are planning to stockpile supplies over the millennium period despite successfully completing the majority of Y2K conversions.
Texaco UK and the Norwegian energy company, Statoil, admitted plans to store oil and gas reserves in case of disruption.
Norway's Norsk Hydro claims it's completed Y2K conversions, but staff will still be at work over the crucial period. However, it has no plans to stockpile and claims there won't be any problems in its North Sea production.
Companies also expecting to operate normally are Shell Expro - which operates in the North Sea on behalf of Royal Dutch/Shell group - BP Amoco and Agip.
