ICL and Severn Trent Systems (STS) are have joined forces to build a work and asset management system for the utilities sector.

The two companies combined ICL's asset repository and STS's StormSTM work management system in a project for UK-based gas pipeline firm Transco. Now they plan to sell it to other gas, electricity and water companies.

The project gave 600 Transco users in different locations access to information about the company's assets, and catalogued £11bn worth of mains, compressors, meters, valves and system controls.
