Hertz's virtual call centre for Europe went live this week. The worldwide car rental company has been migrating its European reservation call centres to a greenfield site in Dublin, Ireland, since October last year.

The centre has a capacity for 400 agents, including native French, German and Spanish speakers. The system is built on Lucent architecture and has computer telephony, interactive voice recognition and Web enabling facilities.
