In brief: AEA buys AE

AEA Technology has bought engineering software company, AE Systems. Formerly part of the Atomic Energy Authority, AEA paid £3.5m for the US firm. The acquisition will allow AEA to provide a larger range of design products for the petrochemical and oil industries. Current customers are Dow Chemicals, Electric de France and Mitsubishi Chemicals.
